Happy Birthday Little Man

'But Mummmmm, I'm nine now'!!! - Sorry sweetie, but you'll always be my little man, right??

Today is Will's 9th Birthday, yippee nine whole years, blimey I feel old!!

This week marks three birthdays of our little family of five. Starting with Will's and ending in mine, hubby's in the middle now how can we forget each others (husband and wife) a day apart how convenient is that? What a roller coaster of parties this forthcoming week will see!! Though as long as I get a lie in and am pampered all day, sod the party I'll have the lie in any day.

Can you remember being nine?? I'm not too sure I can, but then if my mum told me that Duran Duran were in the charts that year (weren't they always in the 80's?) then that would probably jog a memory or two, but my ninth birthday I'm sure it was special though as the years go by they all seem to merge into one.

Apart from my thirteenth and eighteenth and 'oh' then there was my twenty first - last year was pretty special, but only from a memory perspective, with a new baby and the blues I was spoilt and pampered by family and friends.

Anyway, back to my boy 'oh' yes nine today. He was up at 5 'yes' 5am this morning, good job we had stuck this to our bedroom door...

...we are such evil parents, but Saturday 'come on'. The children don't get up that early on Christmas morning, but then that might have something to do with the party we throw every Christmas Eve (that's another story along with the seventies party we had last October, sorry I've got distracted - again) I did get up at 6.15am and then the rest of the family about half an hour later.

Presents galore were ripped open in the good old fashioned way, none of this gentle pull the tape off and carefully unwrap!

We've now lit the cake and have all had a slice each for lunch. Tonight a 'boys' night in and a sleepover, then tomorrow off he'll go with some of his mates bouldering and abseiling (a birthday treat).

William your parents are amazing, do you think they will adopt me??

Have a lovely Saturday, it's raining here - again!!

William's Birthday cake looks scrumtious!!! Mmmmmmmmm and Happy (coming up) Birthday to you!
We also have a tendancy in our family to lump Bithdays together. One of my sons was born on 18th June on my brother's 21st birhtday, one of my sister's sons was also born on 18th June. You could say me my mum and sister did a hat trick. My youngest are twins born on the 19th of June, so quite a week for Birthdays.
I wish you all the most wonderful super-duper Birthday week
much love and Birthday hugs

A belated happy birthday to Will! It looks like a fabulous time was had. I've a nine year old too and it's such a milestone age with the next being double figures - all of a sudden he seems so grown up (and it makes me feel a lot older too!!)
I love that note on the door it really made me giggle - we ban my son from coming into us before 6.00am - he's an early bird too - we had to make the rule after a couple of mornings he came into us at 4.30am - groan!!!

Nina thanks so much for your lovely words. Yes 28 March is a special child day I think. Are we biased perhaps? I think we are.

Love the door sign, I think mine would pretend they had forgotton how to read. I think he has to be praised alone for doing as it said.
