Don't you just love this time of the year?? The smell of Autumn in the air, more manageable cooler days and that urge to harvest, store and fill the rafters of the larder for the coming winter months - 'mmmmmmm' for me that is one of the most delicious, overpowering and deep rooted feelings buried inside me.
With all that in mind we are very slowly started to reap the rewards of Mr T's hard work this year in both the garden and allotment. Not a bumper crop, but not bad for our first year - at the allotment anyhow that is as we have always grown something in our garden.
And the colours that this produce delivers are so vibrant and warming it's like looking at Autumn unfold right before your eyes - for me that is anyhow. From mellow yellows and warming rusts and oranges...
...to red 'Hot' chillies and tomatoes and comforting browns.
These are all my favourite colours and then some.
And all with soups and pickles, jams, jellies and chutneys in mind for the larder to give us comfort and sustenance through the hibernating months.
Welcome to the week and have a wonderful bank holiday Monday. xox

gorgeous produce nina and a wonderful photo of your wee one holding that whopper of a butternut squash. ours failed sadly, though i have now read that you need to 'tickle' the flower when the squash is forming to help it set... do you do this?
our tomatos are ripening well and we have sweet pumkins ripening too.
so rewarding to grown your own but a lots of dedication and hard work too... well done mr T x

We have just been doing lots of picking, too - it's been a good year, in spite of the lack of rain. Enjoy all those good things!

Have a great week, x
Oh what a scrumptiously autumnal post. I love harvest time, your allotment haul is hugely more impressive than ours, we've had a few crops but this year was very much a trial. Much more serious plans for next year.
Your pictures of this post as just wonderful, so atmospheric. Especially your sweet little girl. Lovely, thanks for sharing.
