Chilli Jam

Now that the tomato season is well and truly upon us we (being Mr T) is madly converting them into our favourite store room produce - chilli jam.

The recipe we use can be found in Sarah Raven's Garden Cookbook which has become an invaluable source of gardening knowledge and recipes that we refer to and make many a dish from this mouth watering cookbook all year round.

So with his favourite tipple - not essential, but very much needed to quench one's thirst...

...Mr T has been chopping, slicing, bubbling and bottling.

As you can see this jar is already half empty - what can I say it's really 'really' good stuff.

And with a chunk of homemade bread and a wedge of cheddar, these three little tasty delights go together extremely well!!

Though I do have a little confession to make 'ahhaa, here we go' I can hear you all say.

I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to chillies so just for me Mr T makes non chilli jam. You know, chilli jam without the chillies - divine!

Have a super fab day - I'm off to pick a load more tomatoes for our next kitchen concoction - tomato ketchup - delish!! xox

Love your crochet bag you clever thing! The chilli jam looks delicious, but I dont like my chillies too spicy! The other day I bought what I thought were cream cheese filled baby peppers and I took a BIG bite. They weren't peppers they were chillies and they nearly blew my head off!

Sounds so incongrous doesn't it, chili jam? But sounds delicious with cheese, so civilised. I always think that making jams and chutneys is a tremendous quality of life thing.
Love Vanessa xxx (do you mind if i knit)

How strange, I was sat last night looking at that cookbook! I am having a cooking day today. The problem is the sun is shining and I feel I should be at work. Never mind, I did plan to have today off!

You are going to have to move this way, so I can pop in and sample all of this lovely food.

I best go and get started, or I’m not going to get too much cooking done.

Love Lou xxx

This looks really delicious. I've always wanted to try jalapeno jelly. Never tried anything but fruit jams. Guess I'll have to be brave and go for it.

Very productive family, I see! Tomato season here, too. Any chance we get a recipe for the chilly jam?

Yum. My mouth is watering now. Looks incredible. I made the standard blue/black/rasp this weekend, which I will share tomorrow. Now I'm going to have to give this one a whirl. Bet it would be great with a little Cotswald cheese.

Fun, Fun, Fun

How many ways do we love the Raven? I haven't tried the chili jam recipe yet, but I am very very tempted now I've seen yours.

I am glad you suggested the odd laces solution as I am quite liking it too and I wondered if anyone else would!

Enjoy the jammy lovleyness Sarah x

I think I'd have to have it without the chilli's as well.
