Buds and Bulbs

Spring is definitely in the air, the nights are getting lighter and the sun has felt warm this past week, everywhere I look, life is starting to emerge and even though the daffodils are not in bloom here yet, they have been for sale in the shops for the past couple of weeks, would that be considered as seasonal? Even though Autumn is my favorite season I have to admit I look at my surroundings every day with eager anticipation at nature and it's latest developments, waiting for that first spring bulb to flower or a hint of blossom, I know it's too early in the year but it feels so close! Though watch this space, snow has been forecasted here for the coming week, which is fairly rare down these parts and if we do get it, it is normally a five minute wonder but fantastic when it does happen, not only for the pure beauty but also for the excitement and feeling like a child again, even for a day.

modified cardi...

Sorry Tabitha, not the best photograph, I know, you had just woken up and pulled the back room apart (again) but I just had to post this photo of you in Grandma Smiff's cardi! My mum started knitting this a couple of months ago and it arrived in the post last week, I have modified it slightly by adding the flower and a little bit of embroidery around the hem and cuffs but I was inspired by Caroline Zoob's Childhood treasures book, here which I absolutely love.

Day 1...

Carrot Cupcakes without the cream cheese icing and only the one missing - I couldn't wait!

Something a little bit obscure I know, but I have to start somewhere.

Wow, OK, this is new for me so where do you begin?

Starting a blog seemed like a really good idea. I read other peoples, they seem funny and interesting but how do I start? I've got this far and set it up. I know what I like but what do I write? So to speak

Well I guess this blog for me, is a kind of journal as my life seems to be flying by me so fast. It's for my family to feel 'kept in touch' my friends, to have a nose and probably a laugh (!) and anyone else who may stumble across my ramblings and feel the same way.

I do apologies whole heartedly in advance for my poor typing. Putting pen to paper (fingers to keypad) was never my strong point, but I do promise to use spell check (honest Mr Boo) so here is my first posting.
