Do you remember the above picture from last Monday's post of mine?? Do you, do you?
Basically I've had Cath Kidston's 'Sew!' book for ages and ages now. You know the book with the pre cut out bag for you to make.
Anyhow, it's been sat on a shelf, like I said for ages and every time I went to take a peek at it I would feel the up most of guilt because of that makey do bag all beautifully cut out, ready, to size and to be all sewn up.
So back it went onto the shelf with the odd glance in that direction every now and then. I even turned it around so the spine didn't face me for a while, but that just screamed 'I'm still here' at me.
But I am guilt free once more!! I have finally got round to making up my little bag and to be honest, it is little - very.
Anyhow, it's not perfectly sewn up - the usual Tabiboo style, uh huh!!
I couldn't get my button loop following the rouleau (?) instructions on page 25 - so I cheated.
Nor could I get 'slip the facing over the top of the bag' so..........I cheated. Though to the best of my ability I must say and some very nifty hand stitching - it hides a multitude of sins, well for me it does.
And as for two button holes on the strap, welllllllll I preferred just the one, I'm not greedy and at least I can do button holes - or should I say my lovely new (pre) birthday present can! It's called an Husqvana something or other or Husky as I've nicknamed it.
I also added a lining - just because really. A bit of class I guess (cough, cough!!) well that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!
So now I can turn my CK Sew! book around and look at it with pride in amongst my other crafty books, to be hidden away no more and..............hopefully a few more crafty goodies will be created from it...
...maybe?
I am soooooooo bad with craft books!
Have a fab week - we've got a thunderstorm erupting around us at the moment......hope the computer does conk out on me or explode or something. Does that still happen?? Or am I the only person that turns the TV off when there is a thunderstorm?

Your post made me smile (and maybe giggle just a little) :0)
And, you should definitely turn your electrics off in a thunder storm and un-plug whatever you can. Last year my dear friends, not so nice ex-husband's house was directly hit by lightning and it caused no end of damage. It tore holes in his walls and the floor. It couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke (cough, cough).
What a gorgeous bag - well done for making it :-) I to have a problem with so much inspiration but just don't have the time to actually do of what I want to do.
Glad you got the bag made and you can now stop feeling guilty! I think a bag like that needs a lining and a little tweaking of the instructions makes it more individual anyway!

Well Done Nina! Your bag looks gorgeous!Love the pretty lining!I've yet to learn how to do buttonholes in sewing, but I can do them in knitting!
Hope you have a great week!

Are you trying to make me jealous... well, you have. I just love all the C.K. stuff. You have some really great pictures here and love the perspective on the button one in particular.
Hugs,
Kate - xoxoxo
See it all gets done in the end. Looks great Nina. Lucky you a new Husky thingy.
Are we going to see the lovely blankt soon or are you hiding from the thunder under it?

Oh I'm soo glad it's not just me thay does that sort of thing! My Sew book has been staring at me as well, I must make my bag soon.
Perhaps next week when Im off work.
Love the lining you added.
Have a lovely week.

HAHAhaahahahaaa...I do that too...turn the TV off when there's lightening and thunder!
I LOVE your bag...congrats, it's awesome and the fabric looks so precious made into a bag.
BRAVA!
Have a good nights sleep.
My evening has just begun...must post something.

It's very pretty and it's so much nicer to make it your own with lots of little tweaks and alteration (intentionally or not!!).
well done! I have this book too and as I think you noticed recently I used my fabric to make lavender bags and a needle case, mostly cos I didn't need a bag.. but doesn't yours look nice finished and lined too! I too haven't made anything from the book, but mostly cos the writing is so very hard to read I can't see the instructions on the coloured background - good excuse eh, nobody else came up with that one yet?!!!
That looks lovely. I turn the tv off too.
YES! I turn off the tv in a thunderstorm and until recently I would run and put my flip flops on because I felt that with them being rubber I'd be better grounded than in my bare feet (I have absolutly no idea if there's any scientific merit in this one) and I certainly will not answer the phone!
I absolutely love the bag, it is gorgeous and so well made, well done. xxx
Always wary of thunder and have been told that you should switch your computer off. Looks like you have made a really good job of the bag and small is beautiful...apparently! I need a suitcase I'm afraid! Hope all is well with you. Dev x
Well from the pics it looks really lovely!!!!
I think that bag should be renamed 'The Guilty' - we all have one waiting on the shelf looking accusingly at us living our not-so-cath-kidson-perfect lives! Your looks lovely, mine is still looking at me unmade!!!
It is great to get these things done. Your "husky" sounds good.
I must say in our household we too unplug the computer in a storm, one of those habits!!
Hope the thunderstorm doesn't last too long.
LOVE the bag! My OH goes round unplugging everything in a thunder storm.I'm not too keen on them, but he loves them!
Bellaboo :0)
Well done! - you've done better than me as my book is gathering dust waiting for me to make the bag!
