:: Tuckenhay to Start Point ::
This is going to be really, really difficult for me as I took sooooooooo many pictures when we were away last week that I'm not too sure whether to weave a story with the odd photo or two, just let the pictures do the talking or a bit of both?
I'm thinking maybe the latter with not too much flim flam....and hoping I don't bore the pants off you too much!!

Well as mentioned the weather wasn't so great down in South Hams last Saturday, a bit drizzly and overcast so we opted to stay close to home, well holiday home that is and explore the local area.

Mr T had sussed out several options from chatting to the neighbours, but we decided in the end to don our water proofs and head on out on to the John Musgrave Heritage Trail.

The walk took us along the River Dart which was great for me because it meant I could have a nose at all the gorgeous houses that backed on to it.

Through woodland, along farm land and fields - watch out for the stinging nettles and cow poo.

A meander at first, over little bridges, up and down little steps, wild garlic wafting everywhere - then up we go, the path rising steeper and steeper....phew I'm out of breath.
Keep on going until we reach the very top and 'oh' what a most spectacular view of the valley - sorry no photo I'm taking it all in........too much in awe.....big sigh!!

Stop for a little rest and inspect muddy knees. A little bit of haste and a competition to reach the top meant one little girl slipped over!

Up we get and around the corner we go, back down the path we came up. Past the grazing cows - wave goodbye.

To the warmth of the cottage and a game of 'pick up sticks' - hot chocolate and cookies for the little ones and a glass of something warming for the grown ups!

We have a bit of a fascination with lighthouses in the Tabiboo household and whenever we holiday on the coast we try and find the nearest one for it always feels like we've reached the very ends of the earth when you stand at the most tippy top point looking out to sea.

Where the land ends and the ocean begins or the other way round depending on how you think about it.

Despite the heavy laden skies it was actually quite warm - one of those fuzzy and humid days.

Well that's it for today - I hope I haven't bored you too much?
The slide show is now over, please pass the nibbles around and would somebody please turn the lights on for me 'oh' and don't forget to stack your chairs in the corner as you leave, please.

Okay, so where to start?

Such dreamy, dreamy stuff.....'aaahhhhhhhh' maybe one day? Though how I'm not too sure - I haven't worked that bit out yet!

I love the one of the houses and the sea, the two at the bottom look like someone has just dropped them there. A bit like a playset
Bless you! I don’t think I can ever get bored looking at your pictures. If you come up with a plan to make lots of money please let me know. At the weekend all that come out of my mouth was…I want, I would love to live here, and it’s not fair. And a bit of stamping of feet!!!
Have a wonderful week love Lou xxx

So weird... I walked the exact same path along by the river at Tuckenhay on Bank Holiday Monday... and have the exact same photos. I must admit, I did spend a few dreamy minutes ogling those beautiful riverside properties and like you thought... one day???
I'm looking forward to the other familiar places you will show us tomorrow.

Love the photos, can't wait for the next instalment.
Gosh - what a piece of heaven. I love this part of the world and hoep we'll explore it lots more now we have the caravan. The place where you stayed looks idyllic - stream at the bottom of the garden and allotments out front? Wow, someone waved the Enid Bylton magic wand I think. Just my cup of tea. Thanks for sharing your lovely pictures - can't wait to see more.

Hehe, I know what you mean about sorting through the hundreds of holiday pics. It's one of the advantages/disadvantages of digital cameras - I'd be much more careful/boring with my shots if I knew each photo cost money as it did not so long ago!
Looking forward to the next installment.
lovely pictures, especially the flowers and green stuff
Beautiful. I grew up near the South Hams and it definitely deserves to be named an area of outstanding beauty - there's nowhere else like it! Look forward to the next installment - haven't been to Dartmouth for ages!
I long to visit Devon, my husband used to go there as a child, and he has told me it is simply wonderful. :) xxx
I absolutely love the photos, Nina, they are beautiful and I'm so pleased you had a gorgeous holiday.
