It's Raining...

...it's pouring

the spiderwebs are weighed down with raindrops.

Like glimmering pearls - perfectly symmetrical and completely poised on every little strand of web.

I couldn't resist dashing outside in between one drizzly downpour and another to snap these pictures of the webs in our garden all glistening and sparking with raindrops.

Although I was cursing this morning (more then usual may I add) because as in my everyday mad dash out of the house a handsome eight legged fellow had spun his web right across the pathway.

I think we both got more than a face full of each other then we were expecting - certainly at that hour of the morning!!

I did a silly little aaagggghhhhhh 'get it off me' jig whilst madly brushing myself down - much to the amusement of the whole street - in case the said fellow had landed upon my person - anywhere!

I think though he must of done a quick think spidey swing from his web upon impact and scuttled behind a leaf for safety as I couldn't find him on me - at all!!!

I'm still having shivers running down my spine when I recall this over (and over, and over) again in my minds eye and probably - tonight - nightmares.

Spiders - I love observing and taking pictures, but please do not cross my path!!

I hope the rain has stopped with you now and you're not too soggy?

xXx

ps. I hope I haven't bored you too much with yet more spider web pictures??

There is something so truly beautiful about a dew filled spider's web! I found a HUGE housey spider the other day nestled in a vase on top of a kitchen cabinet. Said vase and spider were safely put outside but I checked this morning and he is still there in it. Even the rain has not made him looksie for another home! I don't have the heart to turf him out! Better outside than in though! If I ever see one shoot across the floor late at night...the screams wake EVERYONE!!!!!!

Hope the rain stops for you. Grey, wet and boring here!

I've forgotten what dry weather looks like. It gets boring after a while, but your pics have injected some enthusiasm for the wet stuff when it can be made to look that lovely.

That happened to me yesterday on the way out on the school run and I did pretty much the same thing. Then I found a big spider spinning a web in the car which fills me with horror because I reckon I took him in. Eeeek!

Love your photos Nina, you clever girl!

Not boring at all. Very pretty pictures. Now I kinda have the heebie jeebies thinking about crawly spiders on me, though! My boys roll on the floor laughing at my reaction to spiders and stink bugs in the house. Hope the sun shines for you soon!

Not at all Nina! I was just thinking how clever spiders are, much better at crocheting than us humans!!

I love your photos of spider webs in all their fairy glory. Visiting your blog is like getting a daily 'fix'. Like you though I like watching and photographing, but don't come near me spiders!

Those little spiders are mischiefs aren't they, I have walked into so many of their traps recently. Maybe they think if they spin a big enough web they will have a meal for life lol.

nope it's still raining here , it's against a gorgeous golden sky and looks quite beautiful ( for once ).. As for the little blighters , when I was younger I'd been cleaning my parents shed , had just gone in the house for dinner when I saw something out of the corner of my eye , there was the most enormous S climbing over my shoulder - I still get the shivers just thinking about it..

lovely pics for a grey old day! Last time I snapped a spiders web the ground was snow covered. At least it's not that cold yet!
