Enchanted

Slowly on the mend, this weekend with the storms predicted to be rolling in I will be curled up enjoying possibly the last open fires of the Spring with this delightful delicious love story of a book.

Hope you have a delicious weekend too.

Ouch!!

Morning all!

I hope all is well with you?

So how to begin? Well........I just want to say sorry for being away from my little blogging space these past couple of days and not replying to any messages or emails as I've kind of busted my shoulder.

I'm not too sure if it's a trapped nerve or knotted muscle, too much bathroom decorating and scrubbing or if I've just been rushing around trying to do too much and basically over doing everything again - as usual or (wait for it) if it's a knock on effect from falling down the stairs last year - yes really I did do that, from the very top bump, bump, bumpity bump all the way down (on my shoulder) to the very bottom in one of my dizzy, not paying attention to what I was doing at all kind of moments.

The kids were ever so impressed and thought I would make a great stunt woman - I don't think so!

Anyhow, it's on the mend and I can now turn my head without a searing pain coursing across my shoulder blades 'oh' the drama!! And hopefully (fingers crossed) will be back to my normal chirpy blogging self in a couple of days - tomorrow at the earliest, if I get my own way!

Now no naughty'ness' but the upside is I've been able to spend most of my days either laid on my back (alright!!) or sat around (on my lardy backside!!) and.............have had the most delicious of massages - I may have to feign this one a little while longer just for those massages!

So all in all I'm just popping in saying 'Hi' and I am still here and thank you for all your messages and (deep breath).........normal blogging service will resume (hopefully)............soon, phew!!

Hope your having a wonderful sun filled day? N xxxxxx.

Blissed Out

What can I say?

Does it get any better than this??

Sat in the back garden (most days at the moment!) on a beautiful Spring mid morning with a cup of tea on standby.

The sun pouring down and the birds chirping all around nesting and doing other Spring time birdie business - honestly it's enough to make me blush!! - Whilst the blossom sways in the breeze not quite scattering their delicate confetti like petals yet.

Blimey I've been watching way too much Cinderella and Snow White with the girls!

Anyhow, is doesn't really get much better than this, for me that is.

Sat in the sun crocheting vintage chevrons - it is a mighty fine life.....on days like these.

Have a good one.

Rock 'n' Roll

Morning all - did you have a good weekend??

We spent most of ours either down at the beach (as predicted) or in the garden pottering around and.................. as you may of noticed, mucking around with my phone!

Now I'm not really one for messing with my pictures - I wouldn't know where to begin to be honest, but I do love taking photos though very rarely on my phone and as for technology, well it's a little bit beyond my 'stay at home mum' fuzzy brain - cropping is about my limit!

So if you ever go on to my poor neglected Flickr (located at the bottom on my lists) and see that a picture has been edited then it has just been cropped, honestly. No enhancement or fun features - just cropped.

But after spying on Kirsty's blog last week an 'app' her other half had added on to his phone, well it just blew me away. A relatively normal picture that has a rock'n'roll feel to it.

Well that's how I tried to sell it to my other half, but as you can imagine..........he laughed.

Rock'n'Roll - really sweetheart, you do come out with the funniest of things.

Well they look rock'n'roll to me - so there!!

Anyhow, here is my attempt at taking some Hipstamatic pictures and I absolutely love them - and my phone which up until now has been used purely for phone calls and text. A to B that's the kind of girl I am, but now - I have opened my eyes.

Here's to Rock 'n' Roll.............and a lovely, lovely week. May the sun shine be with you 'oh' and have a good one.

Looking Forward

I am soooooo looking forward to the weekend.

With bonza weather forcasted I really cannot wait to laze around on the beach this weekend listening to the waves lapping on the shore, feeling the sun on my face and warm sand beneath my feet whilst golden grains trickle through my hands. With the smell of brine and or course vinegar on freshly cooked chips and watching the children merrily gallivant around.

I really cannot wait for this weekend.

Wish you were here!

Hope you have a great one too.

Bathroom Makeover

Well here it is 'finally' - our bathroom makeover.

Not very exciting I know and to be perfectly honest it's not 100% finished......like most things in our home, but with only another lick of paint needed here and there and a cabinet to house the hard stuff (paracetamol & Calpol) I am fairly confident I can say I'm happy with what we've achieved........so far!

Now then, you'll have to bear with me on this as I have no before pictures, just the after ones.

Honestly I was sooooooo ashamed of that bathroom, really honestly I was. Andddddd I'm absolutely rubbish at taking 'room' pictures, gawd knows why, but I am. Give me an item to focus on and flip around, no problem. But zooming out and taking a bigger picture - 'rubbish!'

Anyway, taking all the work that needed to be done into account, we decided to work with what we already had (tiles/toilet/shower.....sink blah, blah, blah) it still went well over budget, but fingers crossed unless something falls down like the ceiling 'or' blows up like the toilet (unless I get to it first!!) then we'll not have to do anything more to this little bathroom/toilet of ours.

OK, so your probably wondering what I meant by 'unless I get to it first' with the toilet?

Well let's just put it this way - the seat is disgusting and I hate, hate, hate it, (no pictures I'm afraid as it is truly frightful) but unless they start making that specific design of loo lid again or we rip it out and start all over (no such luck) then it has to stay put........for now.

Then again accidents do happen and you never know 'whoopsie daisy' I may have a little mind melt one day with a sledge hammer (once I've turned the water off of course first) slip and 'oh darn it' a great big unfixable crack appears - in a porcelain kind of way that is - you knew I meant porcelain, right? (cough cough!)

Righto, back to the bathroom.

What we basically had done was :: a new ceiling, lights and rewiring put in. Fresh paint, towels and some new accessories. And cabinets 'oh' how I've dreamed of having cabinets in our bathroom and hey presto, at least one month later (un huh) one tidy bathroom and a place of sanctuary to wash, groom and 'um' relieve oneself.....ahem.

Well I guess there's not much else you can say about a bathroom really apart from I'm glad we finally got round to sorting it out and chuffed it looks half decent and relieved (in a big sigh kind of way!!) that one room is done.

Next!

Not for a while maybe. Think I'll let the paint dry first before we tuck into another room and judging by my 'I've just scrubbed a bathroom' look - it may be some time!!

ps. not that you would be interested, but if you are......the paint is Farrow and Balls 'Light Blue' the cabinet is from Ikea, Birdie dish and Lily pad dish - Folksy, Radiator - Plumbworld, Shower Curtain - Homebase, Towels TKMaxx, Light pulls are from Bathroom Trends, Broadstairs Travel Poster - VinMag.com and Face Mitts - Cath Kidston.......all the rest we already had.

My Little Blanket

...and my first ever major crochet project!

It's not as big as I had hoped it would be, but then that's due to running out of certain colours of yarn. But I have to say, all the same....................I love it, yes I do.

Even though I haven't tied in all the loose ends - yet (ah hem) but to be honest, it's just like quilting to me. I love the making and seeing something build and come together in an almost impatient way, but finishing off those loose ends, well let's just say I have quilts ten years old plus that have never had the quilting finished off. Naughty I know, but I'm in no great hurry.

Anyhow, I love, love, love the colours of my little blanket, the weight and all important snuggle factor and even though it is a 'Little Blanket' it will most definitely have a purpose at Tabiboo HQ.

It's my wrap around the bed post kind of blanket for throwing across shoulders when snuggled up in bed - any time of the year.

My roll it up and shove it in a 'carry all' for picnic and lounging around on warm grass and daisies watching clouds skipity skip across the sky kind of days.

A throw it in the back of the car to keep little ones snuggled on the longest of long kind of blanket journeys.

Or folded up in a basket and taken down the beach to warm up the most chattering of teeth after a day of dip, dip, dipping in and out of crystal clear waters when the sun has started to drop.

But most of all, it is my blanket, my first little colourful crocheted blanket made from the softest of wool and the most gorgeous plumy berry colours and I love it!

Have a wonderful, wonderful day and thank you for all your kind messages yesterday - warm wishes, Nxx.
