Picture This

~ A day in October ~

Sat on a golden beach all warm, sunny and snuggled.

Eating chips stuffed in buttered bread buns with sausage rolls and ketchup - whilst drinking in the view and a bottle of beer.....of course.

Watching the boats bob up and down on the dazzling, sparkling water as the sun beats down making everything glitter.

Ssilhouetting folks as they mosey along, arm in arm enjoying the stroll and the warm rays upon their face.

Could you picture this - spending a day on the beach in the month of October - late in the season, at the very back end?

Go on close your eyes and imagine the sun upon your face - lighting it up, making it tingle and your cheeks feel like they are warming up.

Take in the smell of brine and warm vinegary chips - go on close your eyes, can you picture all this?

The sound of gulls, the lapping of water and the odd wave rolling over.

Picture this - a day in October.

Sat on the beach eating chips and sausage rolls.

Warm wishes for a lovely day and weekend.

Golden

I really do not care if it is grey and miserable looking outside at the moment - it's not very inviting at all.

Not where I'm standing that is.

Because I've got the best of both worlds - sat snuggled up with the kids in one activity or another and.....even though it is a leaden colour outside the trees are positively glowing.

Our silver birch leaves have faded from a brilliant green over the past couple of weeks which dappled the garden with shade and a rustle when a breeze wafted through, into a brilliant vibrant golden hue that are lighting up our small outside space and as I stand here and stare are falling to the ground littering the lawn with their delicate electrifying foliage.

The glow is amazing and I wish I knew more about photography and how to capture these images - perfectly.

Trust me when I say that, even though the skies are grey the trees in our garden are golden.

Autumn Wedding

We travelled down to Southampton last weekend.

My oldest and bestest friend got married to her soul mate - it was beautiful and lovely, surreal and just perfect - like real life and a fairytale all wrapped up into one.

Did I cry? Well of course I did.

Not only do weddings get me......every time - that and new born babies - blooming hormones!!

But we have been the bestest of friends for a very long time - since we were seventeen as it goes.

The things we have travelled through - together and alone - though we have always always been there for each other with laughter and tears, hard times and good times, giggles and gasps and of course the odd bit of naughtiness - things best not told to our parents - well we were in our late teens......twenties and now thirties - and I'm sure it will not stop us as we both grow old'er'

To my best friend, my dearest friend, my true friend and much more - to your present and future, your life and new beginnings.

Here's to growing old together - with much, much love.

Dodging Waves

We have literally just come back from the beach - all sand blasted, refreshed and exfoliated.

{can you see the rainbow?}

Where one side was all calm, Mediterranean in style and the sun seekers were out worshiping.

The other was wave upon wave at high tide crashing into the jetty with mad onlookers enjoying the thrill and getting a soaking.

Guess which side we were on?

Dodging waves and getting drenched - oh how we chuckled, screamed, waited and ran before we got blasted by another wave.

Happy half term to you all - hope you're having as much fun?
