Preparations are underway - and have been for a wee while now - for a right royal knees up down here tomorrow.

All the kids have been dressed in red, white and blue today for various school activities.
It's been so lovely to see such unity.

For me it's a good excuse for a get together, a party, a celebration, a country coming together as a nation, proud to be British. Do I need to justify that?
For my children to remember like I do from the 70's and 80's - so many people, all celebrating a special occasion. Who doesn't love a wedding? Happier days.

Enjoy the day, what ever you get up to.
And have (another) wonderful bank holiday weekend UK.

My little princess is busy making Eton Mess and strawberry shortcake - I hadn't got round to doing anything, so she has taken it into her own hands!

You are very lucky to be having a street party! As you say, I still remember the silver jubilee party and how everyone united for it.
Enjoy!

Enjoy your royal knees up! Love your plants in tea cups xox We are having a street party which is great fun xox Have a marvelous bank holiday weekend !
I went to my nan's old folks home to watch it. She called it 'a load of old pomp'! She was surprised not to see Harry there though! Bless, I suspect she may have been looking out for a little lad boy not the strapping young man he's turned into.
Enjoy your celebrations x x x
happy celebrating and have a lovely weekend. xxx
Oh wasn't it absolutely wonderful. A super fairytale. We had a wee "knees up" here n all. Cucumber sarnies, scones with clotted cream and jam and a victoria sponge. OOoOo not forgetting the Pimms. Hope you all had FUN. Loves Ionwen X

Happy Wedding day! We also celebrated and had a little un there. He's only 3 but maybe he'll still remember! Who knows? xxx
It was such a beautiful day even here in Athens! I had all my British friends gathered at a friend's house with two tv screans on BBC, lots of red, white and blue decor, and of course banners, flags with Kate and William. We had gin and tonic, but also scones, maids of honor, cup cakes and lovely sandwiches. It was a nice brunch! We also had the latest issue of "OK" and "Hello"...what more can you ask for!
The cupcakes are fab!! wasn't the wedding wonderful, I cried all the way through, lol :) xxx
Adore the pansies in tea cups!!!
