If I lived in the country I would definitely have a little wooden gate with it's own painted name and all the window frames and doors would be decorated in the same shade of colour.

Wild things would grow among carefully chosen cottage plants and sweet peas and nasturtiums would ramble everywhere.
Roses would adorn the front all mingled with the scent of honeysuckle and jasmine.

My preferred form of transport would be.............well I'm sure you can guess and the bells from the church would wake us every Sunday morning.
Muddy wellies in the porch and the smell of wood smoke and home baking would greet you.

Quirky little houses dating back to gawd knows when with their pretty little gardens and smoke curling from the chimney pots.

'Oh yes' - if I lived in the country in a tiny little village like this I would have all that and much, much more, but for now I will dream, because dreaming is good.

And don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I think you've ticked all the boxes! Wonderful:-) Jude x
A pretty dream to have, sometimes they do come true.
Sometimes dreams do come true so you might get your cottage but having lived in a cottage I much prefer something with larger windows and more light, bigger rooms with higher ceilings and fewere draughts, spiders and damp!!
ahhh that looks idyllic, love all the rambling flowers
keep dreaming , you never know ;o)

It's a pretty dream.....
I like dreams, even if they don't come true, they are a niceplace to go to in your head - now I sound an utter fruit loop!

Thanks for the comment over at The Pea Pod.
When I bought my little house I was itching to get rid of the horrible plastic windows and replace them with lovely wooden ones. It took me around 6 years but now I have french styled windows and a front door that are now painted pink...and I love it!
I loved your photos, they're beautiful. Lizzie x
That looks like a perfect cottage garden - truly the stuff that dreams are made of! Beautiful photos - again!
We'd be nothing without our dreams - well , I wouldn't be anyway . Can I be your neighbour?
Thanks for sharing your dreams with us and I do mean sharing, as I am there dreaming it too! Ahhhh!

ooooh i loved that post! you have out into words exactly how i feel, i keep thinking oooh if only i wrote that best selling novel i would buy my self the most pretty little cottage with everything you described but right by the coast on the isle of wight thats what i dream of, i dont need much just a two bedroom on with a little garden im not fussy! I have had such a wave of bad luck just recently i sometimes feel wishing and dreaming are no good and just bring you down but somewhere deep down inside i still hope and pray our luck will turn around and we will manage it one day...who knows? we could be neighbours! haha gem xxx
What a lovely picture you paint, but then you have the photos too! Lovely.
