I was up with the lark this morning - even before the sun had, had a chance to rub the sleepy dust from her eyes.

I don't do early starts all that well.
Don't get me wrong I'm not normally a grumpy kind of person (though I'm sure my other half would disagree) and when I actually get going I can wake up pretty quickly.

But give me the choice of being snuggled up in bed under an assortment of feather down coverings or plodding down stairs to pop the kettle on before the sun has risen whilst the rest of the house sleeps, well............I'd take my bed any day. Until about eight-ish anyway, if I could.

It was so misty this morning and I remember thinking 'pah' to the prediction of any warmth today.
But ever so slowly the sun did peek her head over the chimney pots and all that mist turned into tiny little droplets of condensation - touching everything as it rose under the sun's warming rays.
I was spellbound.

The rest of the house was awake by now. Pitter patter of tiny feet, the toilet flushing and sleepy heads emerging one by one into the comfort of the kitchen.
I should of been making lunches - I know - but I couldn't resist pulling on my wellies (with nightie - perfect morning attire) and stepping out into the day, watching it unfold, mesmerised, for a few short moments.

Now I have to be the first at admitting I'm pretty fed up with the spiders at the moment.

Wherever I seem to tread I always get a face full of their lacy webs and we've even started taken to watching where we step of a morning.
The garden gate is a favourite haunt of theirs and one of us always walks slap bang into at least three webs.

Carefully negotiating the pathways and pushing aside their hard worked creations all waiting for the morning catchings - including me.....yuk!
Spider (and web) for breakfast - no thank you.

Though this morning was a completely different story - I didn't want to disturb a single web.
Just watch them come to life as the sun's rays struck out like little beams and all the condensation gently scattered making them shimmer and glimmer.

It was almost like something out of a spy movie with rays shooting across a room protecting and keeping guard of a valuable thing, but instead of trigger rays it was spider webs all criss crossing around the garden.

I had to keep going to the back door just in case I was missing something. Much to the annoyance of the hungry little people.

If you look very closely at the picture above, you may just be able to make out the mist as it lifts.

Wow! You did exactly the right thing! Wonderful photos.
Beautiful. I have been trying to take pictures of webs but probably the wrong time of day for the right light. I love these.
I used to enjoy the still mornings v much pre-toddler, now I love my bed. I won't get up until OH has brought me my coffee.
Again, superb photos. x
Just spent half an hour trying to photograph spiderwebs. Mine not nearly as fabulous as yours :(
im spell bound- totally and utterly!
such wonderful piccys- you can see why halloween was thought up with the creepy crawlies and magical webs ;0)
beautiful colours in your post always leave me with a smile ;0)x
Wonderful photos. We have a lot of daddy long legs here as well as spiders!

Lovely web photos, I'm very impressed with your windfall apples too, beautiful Autumn shots.
I have to say I don't mind spiders at all - would far rather have them than the flies they get rid of for us!
Beautiful photos that recreate the early morning of an Autumnal day.
Just gorgeous.
Wow! You've utterly captured the magic of a September morning Nina, your pictures are truly the essence of the season of mists and mellow fruitfullness. Thanks so much for sharing. I was in the office before the mist cleared this morning so missed most of this.
Love the amazing close ups but that last picture does it for me the most. Just beautiful.
Do hope you're thinking of doing a calendar/diary. I'd love to have your images to accompany me all year.
Have a smashing week - from a fellow nightwear + wellies girl. Usually pyjamas and gogs to let out the hens. Hope the neighbours can't see!

Aren't webs works of art, that first photo in particular is just gorgeous! I wish I had the energy to get up early with the camera, that morning light is perfect isn't it. x
just the most amazing photos! i wouldn't mind the spiders if they stayed in the garden x
Oh how beautiful. I too was awake & up fway too early - 3am until 6ish but then just before the dawn broke I decided to go back to bed and try for some more zzz's! Didn't think to have a look outside for lovely picture possibilities. I fthe same happens tonight/tomorrow morning I'll give it a go!

If only every morning could be that beautiful.
Lovely magical photo's! Real treasures now saved forever-tomorrow will be a different day with new treasures to discover! Here the White Snow Geese are coming from the Arctic Circle, landing in our fields, in our farming valley-just beautiful, and ever so chatty!
Perfectly captured!
2 words ... just beautiful .
Nature is art, isn't it? What breath-taking photos!
Wow, your photos are superb....I too have loads and loads of webs around my garden, and I keep thinking I need to take some photos, but whenever I do, the lighting is all wrong to give gorgeous photos....I too also keep walking into said webs, and getting a face-full....yuk, yuk, yuk.....and I too hate getting up early in the morning...much rather stay snuggled up, like you till at least 8-9am -xx-
We love spiders although I did walk slap bang into a big wide web the other day which gave me the creeps. Not sure how the spider felt about it either. Lovely photos, they really are beautiful.

Beautiful pictures!!!
How wonderful. It's still dark at six when I walk the dog, so I miss such beauties, however an owl flew (swooped?) just in front of me on Friday...fabulous!
Wowza, what incredible photos you have captured. I remember a similar morning this time last year, but so far our garden has less this year. The light at the moment is breathtaking isn't it? I have been padding around our plot this morning and it felt magical!
Your photos are so technically accomplished I know, but what I love about them especially, is you seem to be able to create some kind of nuance, like the beginning of a story or poem, hints of ideas...there is so much feeling in them, like good paintings. Lots of people can take excellent photos, but not so many can make them pulsate with life like this.
I guess it is your artist's eye, you are really gifted Nina.
Breathtaking photos! It truly is a beautiful day! Let's enjoy as much of it as we can... Cx
Love them those little creepy crawlies...well love your photo's anyway.
Nina!
How do you manage to make something I hate so much look so darned beautiful...?

Wonderful pictures as always Nina. The web shots are amazing in their intricacy and the last shot is my favourite of all.
At this time of year I walk around with a big stick in front of me as I can't stand the feeling of a web on my skin. Sad isn't it?
