Through the round window

"A house, with a door, 1 2 3 4, ready to play, what's the day?

Do you remember?

I took this picture the other day and for nostalgic reasons unknown to me - being ill can play funny old tricks on the memory I'm guessing - I was transported back to my childhood.

Maybe it was the big bowl of Heinz tomato soup I was sipping, being wrapped up warm suffering at this time of the year with a cold, sneezing and smelling of vapour rub when all I wanted to do was jump in the big pile of leaves making me feel like I was four years old-ish again - who knows - but for a brief meditating moment {or two} I was hit with deja vu.

Or depending on age how about -

"Here's a house, here's a door. Windows: 1 2 3 4, ready to knock? Turn the lock.................."

-what is it?

"It's Play School." - of course.

Sneezes have turned into snuffles and I'm most definitely on the mend - thank you all for asking - and of course I'm still staying wrapped up warm rediscovering itchy woolly hats, gloves, scarves and other paraphernalia tucked away in boxes and dragging out warm padded jackets and boots plus reacquainting myself with old wip quilts and crochet blankets I abandoned such a very (it feels like) long time ago, back in the Spring.

Keep warm, cosy and snuggled.

xXx

I liked the arched window & Big Ted (didn't like Hamble though- found her a bit scary- very wimpy behaviour on part!)

I remember it from watching with my daughter all those years ago. I always wanted it to be the arched window, but it seldom was.

I'm so pleased that you are feeling better.

It's funny how being unwell makes you nostalgic, maybe because you just have to be still for a while and thinking happens:0)the vapour rub certainly conjures up childhood memories for me too.Really pleased you are on the mend and may have some time to consider what to do with your WIP's xox

Play away! How easily we were amused compared to the entertainment peddled to our kids! Glad you are on the mend. Bx

So glad you're on the mend.

Ah, Playschool.

A blast from my childhood too - both Playschool and vapour rub. Thinking about it - illness always meant either Heinz Tomato or Chicken soup to aid recovery :)

I was so disappointed it turned into Playbus when my kids were little!

Goodness, I used to watch that until I was at least seven years old. The arched window was my favourite.

You too are coldridden? I never thought the common cold could make my children so irritating.

I need a big dose of patience.

Enjoy half-term ;-)

Loved it, but really really adored P L A Y play away play play away with Brian Cant. Somehow they were all like really comforting aunties and uncles.

I've been an absolute cow this week. Looked forward to the time off and instead with Little Bun on her third week of waking us up in the middle of the night and me recovering from the lurg and being hormonal too I wish I was four and could curl up to watch daytime TV.

Hope you're better soon - it's a horror this first of the season cold isn't it.
