It's finally up - the Christmas tree is finally up!

After much stress with the stand this year that didn't want to behave, a box missing in the loft containing all the fairy lights - I think it has been gobbled up by the attic goblins. Wouldn't that make a great childrens story book? - and a bag of baubles that seem to have completely 'vanished' I am finally breathing a great big sigh of relief........three days later.
Mr B didn't get stuck in the Christmas crowds that long when he went out to purchase the tree at the weekend - might I add - and it is now starting to look a little bit like Christmas around here.

I did let the kids loose on it first - they had great fun decorating it and jigging along singing at the top of their voices to Christmas carols whilst I (mum) got pleasantly sloshed on mulled wine.
I do have to confess to having a little mix around of some of the decorations though once my little brood had all gone off to bed, as they were all at the level of two foot or below and mostly three items hanging off per branch - the eldest Boo had far more interesting things to do with his time this year!
So I had a wee balance out.

And we have all change this year.
We have a Christmas tree decked in twinkling new led lights that looks all beautiful at night when the lights are turned down low, but a little bit flat during the day due to the lack of sparkle and baubles.
I will head out tomorrow and see if I can find a couple to add to the glitz (or lack of) our tree.

O Christmas Tree
xXx

All sounds rather familiar, blogged yesterday about our rather chaotic Christmas tree antics on Sunday!! Love your starburst pics. Bxx
Looks beautiful and sounds like an amazing night!!
Ha! there was us thinking we were the only ones who'd fallen victim to the attic tree light thief - we had a dash out at 3pm on Sunday afternoon to buy new ones. Could only get some coloured ones which I'm warming to - they go with the many colours on our tree.
Baubles were safe though - they live in the back of a wardrobe since a furry attic visitor ate some of them a few years ago!
It's gorgeous! I have all my lights, all my baubles, it's the tree I'm missing.
It looks lovely, we need to wait for saturday to put ours up but as we gave a6 month old cat feeling slightly nervous!
Wowzer, stunning starry pics, Nina. We have done nothing here, absolutely nothing .. but we shall make up for it at the beginning of next week I'm sure!

...the fairy lights have been my big head ache this year- my expensive ones which i only used two christmas's blew, so bought some cheeper options ( i say cheaper they wernt that much cheaper!)...have them on 7 days only the evenings and now they've gone too...so ive had to use two sets of cabinet and dresser lights to dress the tree...i havent been turning the lights on just incase...hehe...x

Looking very festive and cosy there.
I am very envious of your chair, I'd really like one like that.
Super pictures again, Nina.
Just found your blog, very lovely indeed, D x
Gorgeous photos! We too have our tree up - the first thing the puppy did when he saw the tree was rush up to it and start taking the baubles off - I was not impressed! At least he hasn't toppled it over - yet!
June
