Silent

I have completely lost my voice.

The kids tipped me one step over the edge yesterday morning resulting in me shouting up the stairs - honestly you'd think we had a herd of elephants living with us! - leaving me completely and utterly speechless.

I am lost for words....literally.

Never in my life have I ever lost my voice before.

I think they may of cracked me.

Fortunately for me though - no more shouting.

All I have to do is give them a look and place my fingers to me lips - not even a 'sssshhhhh' can be uttered - and all peace is restored.

I think they know they have done their worst.

I hope your Christmas run up is going a little bit smoother then mine.

xXx

ps. I have a vase full of bright red tulips sat in the front room - in December.

Tulips and the Christmas edition of the Radio Times - in the same room sat side by side...............together.

Is that normal?

Christmas Radio Times and red tulips? No definitely not normal but very enviable. I do hope that you haven't damaged your vocal chords.

Oh Bless you....

We all have pre Christmas colds here, so I have two overwhelmed chidren, in particular the youngest. I too have one, that has left me very husky, much to the amusment of all at work...

I hope you voice returns soon, perhaps let it out when small people least expect it - & get your own back on them!

Lovely pix tulips are just the jo0b for Christmas as they bring thoughts of spring to come. I did a fair bit of shouting in my time too but at least your lot are all quiet now! Long may it continue. They do say that in order to get children to take notice you should speak quietly but I must admit it never worked for me"

Bright red cheering tulips are utterly essential to keep the voiceless in good heart, whatever the time of year :D

Really hope you feel better soon x

Bless you Nina, I have lost my voice twice before and really enjoyed the silence! Alice wasn't so patient and thought I could continue reading stories to her at bedtime!!

Lots of honey, lemon and hot water and cosy sleepy early nights, take care xox

When I have a cold on the way I lose my voice, hope you aren't going to be suffering over Christmas, lots of whisky and hot lemon required.

I think this is a blessing in disguise, Nina! It is true that hot lemon and honey will do the trick but there is something to be said for peace and silence.

I am wishing you a very happy week.

ps My children too are testing my patience from time to time. You are not alone.

I've found weirdly they listen more when you can't talk because you start looking at them menacingly. Just means you have to be in the same room for it to work.

Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family Nina.

You remind me that I have a vase of 'pretend' red tulips in our house. I love them so much that there they stay, although when each summer goes I tell myself I should put them away. Mind you the 'pretend' amarylis is out the whole year too, oops!!
Sending hot, lemony vibes your way, we've all been suffering with colds and sore throats and my boy sounded like he might lose his voice .. sadly he didn't in the end. Could have done with the silence for a day!!!!

Take care xx

ahhhhhh yes, I have been there this past week too Nina, I have found myself shouting way too much at the Little peeps, altho my voice is still intact.
I buy red tulips every Christmas, they've become my Festive Flower of choice, so yes, completely normal!
Wishing you a peaceful tiptoe into Christmas, have a good'n'
