I've been down at the allotment this morning digging with my little matie Mr Robin.
Planning, preparing and turning stuff over, finding hibernating snails for him to gobble up!
Suited attire - my favourite tea dress and wellies.

Could it possibly get any better then that?

You certainly know what is important in life - I would have loved to join you though possibly not in my tea dress but only because I don't possess such a garment!! Enjoy life - you have the right idea there!
Robins are perfect gardening companions aren't they ... we have a little chap who always come down to see what's on offer. Like MG I have the wellies but no tea dress ... perhaps its time to change my image x
Think your Mr Robin flew over to the quince tree to get a bath. Cheeky thing! Love the outfitX
Desperate to get outside today so will do so vicariously Nina! x
It is so cold and frosty and foggy here..I can't even see the end of my garden! Looks nicer where you are though!
Don't gardens/allotments soothe the soul in the most amazing way? Xx
i love your allotment outfit ;0)
best dressed lady digger there i reckon ;0)xx love seeing all the shoots popping through- enjoy it- your doing a fantastic job there x
You are my kind of girl. I do have wellies and garden in them but I don't look like I should be on the cover of a gardening magazine, you in your tea dress. A grand start to the new year.
So enjoy your blog.
Have the wellies ( With cupcakes on them ) but no tea dress. Most of the time I just end up covered in mud.
Spring is most certainly on its way!!

Fancy doing garding in a dress, rather stylish.
Looks good to me! Glad you were soothed by the soil, nothing much beats a bit of contemplative digging :D
That looks like the perfect allotment attire to me. I am very envious - I had to give mine up a year ago and I miss the digging and getting ready for new growth. Happy digging! X
I doubt it could get better than that. Nice to see a few flowers as well.
Ooo those pictures are a joy to see. Have been looking back on how my first year growing vegetables and has really made me want spring to hurry. First time ever really as I like winter. But this year has been a strange one.
I just love the photo with the black pots. Dont know why but they scream garden to me. Weird huh?
Looks like you had a great and productive day in the allotment.
MBB x
I am so impressed I have not even thought about the vegetable garden yet, have the pigs in there at the moment turning the soil and everything else while I eat biscuits and have a cup of tea!
Love your dress and Hunter wellies

Great photos, but gardening in January!? That's a new one for me :) I suppose as the weather is warm enough... why not?
These really are the best moments, I'm with you on that and being out in the nature (especially with Mr Robin) really does bring a certain peace at hard times. Sending big hugs and love the wellies photo :) Catherine xx
What a joyful post Nina! Your flowers look so fresh and beautiful.
digging in January - that's been unheard of the last couple of years. How fab to be able to get a head start on your gardening year on your new plot. Please have a satisfied sigh for me - I won't be getting out to mine until April ...
Such clear photos. Working at the allotment must be rewarding.
Can't say it could get much better. Sounds bliss and much needed for you I imagine.
Big Hug to you my lovely X
Hi Nina,
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you too!
I seemed to have missed a few of your posts, they never came up on my blogroll.
Sorry to hear about Grandad. A bit of sadness over Christmas, but always lovely to remember the good times.
Ahhhhhh you are a girl after my own heart. What better attire than a tea dress and wellies! LOVE IT!
Hope you have a fab day today, despite the weather being a bit pants!

Oh my goodness! All this in January, surely pouring over seed catalogues should be happening just now? Not digging! But such very elegant digging!
