Crunching, stamping, toes going numb - slip sliding all the way.
Hot breath on cold air sending out puffs on each exhale.
Squeals of laughter and whooshing by or taking it ever so steady, softly and slowly so not to go skating along in a blur.
Mittens on fingers and icicles from noses, eyes watering from the blast of cold air.
Heads bobbing along with itchy hats sat on top, earmuffs trying to help cover up the stinging chill.
Home for something warming a mug of hot chocolate cupped in frozen hands.
Sat by the fire all huddled in a blanket, eiderdown, duvet or cover...take your pick.
All cosyied up watching the snow silently fall beyond the window panes settling gently where it falls.
Have a wonderful weekend, keep warm - stay safe - and most of all however you spend it...enjoy.

We haven't got any snow!! The children will be so disappointed when they get home from school. Hope you enjoy the snow you get! Sarah
ReplyDeleteWe're the same here in Wales! I'm afraid I've only stuck my head outside the door to give the birds extra seed but I love reading of others exploits! Somehow you feel quite virtuous when you've been out in the cold and come back in o sit in front of a roaring fire. You enjoy too. Joan
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's the weekend! Have fun! :) x

ReplyDeleteA warm shower and the fluffiest pj and dressing gowns you can find! seem to feature at our shed too!. ReplyDeleteHeatwave here. The snow looks beautiful and lovely and cold! x
ReplyDeleteOh, lucky you! We were meant to have 3-5 inches of snow last night, but got nothing. Just a cold wind after six days of fog and drizzle. I am so weary of muddy paw prints, and was hoping for a good blanket of white. Stay warm and cozy, winter is far from over here, and I still have hope.
ReplyDeleteI miss the snow!!!!!!
