It's not quite Spring yet - not quite...but almost.
It's so close now I can literally smell it. Like a Summer storm on the breeze, the smell of rain in the air, Spring is just around the corner and I'm so excited.
So while I wait patiently, watching Winter idly disappear with its decay and hibernation I keep searching for those tell-tale signs.
Early blossom on the trees and pussy willow buds all soft and tactile. Daffs in bloom, crocuses gathered in clusters and hyacinths giving off their almost overpowering aroma...though some are starting to make (already) an appearance in the stores.
Until then I keep my wellies firmly on my feet, squelching through those puddles of mud and wrapped up warm against the elements.
Not long now, Spring is on the way - not quite...but almost.
Have a beautiful weekend.

It does feel that Spring is around the corner and it is so encouraging to search out and find those first signs. Lovely pictures, my favourite has to be the last one. Wishing you a good weekend.

Love the light in your photos. x
ReplyDeleteI came across this by coincidence while surfing blogs, but oh how it made me miss England.. Over here, it's nowhere near "almost" spring yet. One of the things I miss the most is the shorter winters.. sigh. What beautiful photography, too :o)
ReplyDeleteI love your first photo! I too can smell spring in the air. I went past a whole load of snowdrops and aconites today, along with seeing lots of buds on the trees. It's amazing how everything suddenly starts to come back to life. Take care. Chel
ReplyDeleteI so hope you are right! Can't wait for the frost and snow to disappear.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!

ReplyDeleteI really do need the spring, I'm not as patient as you! More snow on the horizon, yikes! Lovely photos (as always!) :) x
ReplyDeletethese pictures invoke such a longing in me for a real TRUE spring. A longing for a walk in the wet crisp air. A walking in the woods & seeing the light of the sun caught somewhere in the branches of the trees, caught somewhere between the darkening of autumn and the light of spring. I love how spring makes you squint so you can better see the tiny bud on the branch, the newly made nest, the tiny blossom under the leaves. thanks so for sharing your beautiful photos.xxoo
ReplyDeleteI'm always pleased to see some sign that spring is on its way....but sometimes I can't help wishing it would hurry. Just a little.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures.
